- דִּיגְלַת, דִּגְ׳pr. n. (h. הִדֶּקֶל) the river Tigris. Targ. Gen. 2:14.M. Kat. 25b bot. נשוק כיפי ד־׳וכ׳ the shores of the Tigris touched each other (the water forming a level with the banks). Kidd.71b. Yeb.121a. Ber.59b. Taan.24b שפוך מרזבי דמחוזא לד׳ (not דציפורי, v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. note) the gutters of Maḥuza emptied themselves into the Tigris.
